Tennessee’s Oldest Marathon, the Andrew Jackson Marathon, began in 1972 as a celebration of the city’s Sesquicentennial Anniversary and eventually became an annual event, adding a half marathon along the way. The event is now managed by the Jackson Roadrunners and benefits the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. The looped course offers a marathon distance (two loops) and a half marathon distance (one loop) that winds its way from beautiful downtown through historic midtown Jackson up to Interstate 40 and back to midtown via scenic neighborhoods. Come join us to help the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse continue their mission and stay to see what our beautiful city has to offer.
